I just happened to wander by this page and realized that a long time ago I started to write a journal here and never made it past the first post. It was neat to read about the thoughts I had during April, nearly two years ago.
Kate is now my wife, so I guess I was right about wanting to be with her forever. We have been married nearly 8 months and just made it through our first married Christmas. I am not a fan of the holidays, but it was nice to spend it with Kate.
Life has had many twists and turns in the last few years. Kate and I are embarking on a new adventurous portion of our lives, as I face the very real possibility of not having a job for the first time in 14 years. Kate has taken a post with an agency and is going to be working as a nurse in far off lands. If everything goes well, I will be travelling with her and finishing my degree online.
We have had our fair share of set backs in our plans. Several hospitalizations. Two surgeries. Two job changes. I am hoping that this new post provides the stability that we desperately need.
The goal is to do this for two years so that we can save enough to buy a home and start a family. This is the one thing in life that I want more than anything else, so here's hoping.

April 21, 2007 - Moving Day
Today, this morning, in a little less than a half an hour, I will be signing a lease for my new apartment. I am moving in with Katy. She is the love of my life. I have only been with her for 2 months and have known her for a little less than a year, but I know that she is the one. I wanted to start writing this journal so that I can look back and recollect some of the more important stuff that has happened to me.
Katy worked all night last night and came home this morning in tears because she had a demented patient that kicked her and actually peed on her.
When I went to comfort her she explained that she was crying for the little old man, because she had had him a week before and he was fine and now he was like this. It made me realize that I definitely want to be with her forever. Someone that can be so caring that she is not angry over someone peeing on her and instead feels compassion for them is someone that I definitely want to keep in my life.
I think that maybe this journal will continue, we shall see, but for now I have to get Katy up so we can go sign our lease and begin the very daunting task of moving and starting our new life.
